Afro-gospel artist Patience Ntuli from Malamulele is receiving a lot of attention with her debut album, Khanimamba.

Although she is new to the industry, Patience makes music that soothes the soul, is easy to dance to and aims to introduce people to Christ, by offering messages of hope. She writes and composes her own music.

Patience started singing in church in 1988 and continued singing at university. Her love for music did not stand in the way of her studies. She completed a B Com in cost accounting, a university education diploma, an honours degree in cost accounting, a masters in business administration and a higher diploma in cost and management accounting.

She grew up listening to famous musicians likes Rebecca Malope and Joyous Celebration, and she said she drew inspiration from them.

"Recording the album was not easy," said Ntuli. Despite having plenty of songs readily available, she had to fund the project herself. In order to enhance her writing and composition skills, she took piano lessons. She composes songs in Xitsonga, Tshivenda and Sepedi, and the 19-track album includes different styles, including reggae, Nigerian and kwasa-kwasa rhythms.

She is a devoted Christian, who ministers at Word of Life Bible Church. She is also a worship team leader.
