Her real name is Rudzani Tshikovha, but she is widely known by her stage name, Rhuu. Born at Tshixwadza village in the Dzimauli area 31 years ago, Tshikovha has always dreamt since childhood of releasing her own album.
Her talent was first recognized when she was still in Sunday school in the late eighties. After passing Grade 12 in 1999, she enrolled for a diploma in Women Development and Micro Finance with the University of Venda, a course she completed in 2002.
Her love of music grew over time and when she was appointed as an administrative officer at Fulwana Consultancy Company in Polokwane in 2010, Rhuu joined a group called Extreme Worship.
The Extreme Worship group released their debut album, Jeremiah 29:11, early last year. After her success with Extreme Worship, Rhuu felt that her music was mature enough and she decided to go solo. After a short meeting with the internationally acclaimed artist, Dan Tshanda of Splash fame, early this year, Rhuu started to work on her debut gospel album, Madzanga. The album was recorded at Dalom Music Studios in the first week of July and released recently.
The album comprises 10 songs, with songs such as Wait on the Lord, No one like you, Don't worry my child and the title track, Madzanga, that make the new release a must-have album to the fans. Rhuu revealed that she will be performing live at various concerts in Botswana in the next two months.
The album is available at most music outlets in South African and Botswana. She also confirmed that Madzanga will be launched officially at a concert to be staged at the Tshixwadza playground in October. For live performance bookings, Rhuu can be phoned at 076 120 1428.
