A gospel singer from Nzhelele-Dopeni, Ms Mbavhalelo Mabilu (31), has recently released her debut album, Ndi awa ntike.
She is the mother of one and a devoted church member. She describes her new album as a great blessing from the Almighty. "I thank God for making it possible to release my album. Even though I was battling financially to release it, God came through for me," she added.
Mbavhalelo told Limpopo Mirror that her love for gospel music was inspired by her parents. "My parents are good singers. At church they are always singing," she added, pointing out that they played a very important role in her music career. "My parents always motivate me in everything that I do," she said.
She started to sing in a music group called Vhanangiwa vha murena, and then she decided to produce her own album. "I realised that I have a great talent for singing, so I decide to record my own album," she said.
The new album has 10 tracks: Ria takala, Ndi nnyi khonani, Ndi yawa ntike, Dzula na nne,Uya vhuya murena, Nkarhi wanga, Zwo sala golgotha, Galilea, Repolositswe and Dzithendo. She said that Dzula na nne was already receiving a lot of airplay.
The album is doing very well so far. "So far, my album has sold more than 2 000 copies. In the streets, people are loving it. It is in demand. My fans have given me a good feedback," she said.
She stated that everyone had a gift from God, so they must utilise that gift. She encouraged people who have a passion to become a singer to go to producers who can develop them. She also advised people to beware of stingy producers.
