Denga Gededzha laid to rest

The well-known former headmaster of Maebane Primary School and sports promotion officer, Mr Denga Gededzha, was laid to rest at the Tshiozwi cemetery on Saturday.

Tshiozwi – The well-known former headmaster of Maebane Primary School and sports promotion officer, Mr Denga Gededzha, was laid to rest at the Tshiozwi cemetery on Saturday.

Mourners from all over the province and outside attended the funeral. Speakers emphasized that he was a fallen hero, who was still involved in the battle towards the upgrading of his people’s lives. He was at the peak of his performance and his death was blow to the nation, they said.

He is survived by his wife, two children and four grandchildren.

The chairperson of the South African Democratic Teachers Union’s Sinthumule/Kutama branch, Mr Bethuel Malenga, described Mr Gededzha as a hard-working man who had a broad vision, and said communities members consulted him on various matters concerning even their own private lives. He was always ready to assist with anything that he could provide.

In his job as a sports promotion officer, Mr Gededzha is the one who identified the talent of South African 800-meter king Mbulaheni Mulaudzi, Bethuel Netshifhefhe, Jane Mudau, Azwindini Lukwareni and many others.
