After not winning four broadcasting awards competitions, Mangalani Mudau has finally received his trophy. Mudau, popularly known to Musina FM listeners as "The Diamond Voice," won this year's SA Pride Award for the Best Radio Presenter of the Year 2023. Although the winners' names were announced earlier this year, Mudau only received his trophy last week.
Mudau's journey into the entertainment industry dates back to his school days when he sang in a choir and wrote poetry. He later developed a passion for radio and was especially inspired by Phalaphala FM presenters Mr Mashige and Mpho Nefale.
"I would like to thank everyone who voted for me during tough times, using their airtime to make sure that I am a winner of this first SA Pride Awards as the Best Radio Presenter of the Year 2023," said Mudau. He also thanked his family and Musina's mayor for congratulating him.
Mudau has gained a lot of experience as a radio presenter since he started in 2015. He encourages upcoming radio presenters not to drop the mic until they make listeners happy. "Please don't give up on things that you love. Do it like it's your last day behind the microphone and always make your listeners feel special. Let them feel your presence," said Mudau.
Currently, Mudau is a presenter on Musina FM's afternoon drive show.
