Musician Rudzani Nematswerani, stage name DJ Nemaru, is known for telling stories through music, but in his latest single, U Lindela, featuring Pushie Da Tall, he turns the spotlight inward, sharing a deeply personal chapter of his life.
Instead of singing about what he sees around him, the artist opens his heart and transforms his emotions into sound.
“This song is very personal to me. Most of the time we sing about what is happening around us, but this time I decided to speak to myself through music,” he said.
For the 42-year-old artist from Maraxwe, music has become more than entertainment; it is a reflection. He openly speaks about living without a wife or children, a reality many people experience but rarely discuss publicly.
“In life, people expect you to reach certain milestones at a certain age. But I have learned that everyone has their own journey and their own timing.”
The single carries a message of hope and self-encouragement in moments of loneliness.
“Sometimes the nights are long and you start asking yourself many questions, but I chose not to lose hope. I decided to encourage myself,” he said, adding that he believes waiting does not mean failure. Instead, he sees it as part of preparation for what lies ahead.
“I believe my time will come,” he says. “One day I will have the family I dream of. Right now, I believe life is preparing me,” he said.
Through this release, DJ Nemaru hopes that listeners who feel “late” in life will find comfort and strength in his message.
