The Ligege One Stop Centre was transformed into a hub of music, celebration and community spirit on Friday, 30 January, as Muthaduli Ratombo, better known as DJ Nipro, marked his 18th annual birthday celebration in unforgettable style.
The event drew music lovers, local supporters and industry figures who came together to celebrate a milestone in the life and career of one of the region’s most consistent cultural contributors.
DJ Nipro began deejaying in 1999, and this was his 18th annual birthday celebration, which over the years has taken place at various venues across South Africa. He recently released a new album, featuring the hit track Siya Groover.
From early evening until late, the venue buzzed with excitement as an impressive line-up of performers and DJs delivered high-energy sets that kept the crowd on its feet. The night featured standout appearances by Dr Colbert Mukwevho, Khakhathi and Friends, Cyria The Community, Jimmy The Scratcher, King Mshivo and Mostwanted DJ. The experience was further elevated by the Choice FM crew, alongside the event’s resident DJs, who ensured a seamless musical journey throughout the night.
