Messages of condolences continue to pour in, both locally and from abroad, following the passing of the well-known owner of Do Light Transport, Mr Reckson Mukwevho. The businessman passed away at the Polokwane MediClinic on Saturday, 8 July, after a brief illness. He was 55 years old.
His son, Mr Kakgiso Mukwevho, expressed the difficulty of accepting his father's death. "Our father was a loving person who took great care of all of us. We have lost a remarkable teacher who always found solutions to our problems. He was hard working and a pillar in our community. He was accommodating to everyone, regardless of their colour, race, or religion. He was a visionary and the strategic thinker behind our family's transport business," he said.
Mr Patrick Mapengo, the secretary of the Vhembe Bus Association, extended his condolences to the bereaved family, expressing how much the association would miss the strong working relationship and support received from the Mukwevho family. "Reckson was a truly good man, and his contributions always made a significant impact on the organisation. His role in promoting unity, discipline, hard work, and dedication within the family and the community will always be cherished. The grief felt by the family also affects us. We will forever remember him for the many positive things he did for this bustling industry and the community," Mapengo stated.
A memorial service for Mukwevho will take place in Polokwane on Friday, 14 July, at 11:00. The funeral service will be held in Ha-Mapila, in the Nzhelele area, on Saturday, 15 July.
