Thousands of music lovers across Limpopo will get to enjoy the music of some of their beloved singers during multi-award-winning artist Makhadzi's pre-One Woman Show music festival that will be held at the Rabali Stadium on 8 April.
Makhadzi kick-started her music career more than a decade ago, and she has since thoroughly established herself in the industry, to an extent that she has become popular among both young and old fans. Her music carries relevant messages that advocate peace, love, enjoyment and the celebration of life and African culture. Makhadzi's name resonates with contagious popularity and is fondly known as the "Queen of Africa".
The event organiser, Mr Lucky Tshilimandila, said music festivals served as their master tool to bring the people of Limpopo together. He said the main aim of the event was not to make a profit, but to "market our Vhembe region and show our talent".
With an anticipated turnout of more than 10 000 people, only the best is expected from the performing artists. "We have come a long way, and in all the years we have seen tremendous improvement in our music. We have not diverted from our traditional style, but our choreography has improved. We are confident that those who attend the music festival will not be disappointed," Tshilimandila said.
The line-up of supporting artists includes, but is not limited to, Makhadzi herself, Master KG, King Monada, Nkosazana Daughter, Gusba Banana, Mr. Brown, Prince Benza, Vee Mapezy & Slizer (from Botswana), Zanda Zakuza, Fortunator, Khakhathi, Ramzeey, Rude Kid Venda, Cyria, Nadia Vocals and many more.
Tickets are available at Computicket at R100 (early bird), R150 (general), R600 (VIP), and R300 (golden circle). For entry, cooler boxes are charged at R50.
