Radio Thohoyandou host Abednego Vhuhwavho Muhali lives by his unique slogan: "Don't let your past challenge your future and paralyse your progress." This mantra has been a driving force behind his success.

The 28-year-old from Ngwenani Hathemeli had humble beginnings. He does not know his biological parents and was adopted by several families, moving from one to another. As a result, he changed schools frequently, like "changing clothes," as he describes it.

Muhali, who goes by the radio name Mr. Ooh Yeesss, began his journey in entertainment in 2020 as an actor with the group Wow Unives. In 2022, he joined Petition Movies and later ventured into podcasting. In 2024, he joined Tshakhuma Community Radio but had a brief stay there before moving to Nzhelele FM.

In July last year, Muhali finally found a permanent home at Radio Thohoyandou 91.7MHz, where he now hosts the Breakfast Show, airing weekdays from 07:00 to 10:00. Before his current role, he hosted Dzomo la Lushaka, which aired from 12:00 to 15:00 on weekdays.

"I am living my slogan. You won't believe me if I tell you I don't know my parents. I've been adopted by many families, which led to living in various villages and attending many schools. All along, I had a dream of making it in the entertainment world. I am working towards that dream, and my past does not affect my journey because I keep reciting my life slogan," he said.

Muhali expressed his joy in working at Radio Thohoyandou, which he considers his second home. "The listeners are like family. We discuss topical issues while enjoying good music," he said.
