Apart from the fact that Dynamos have been relegated to the lower division, they must pay a hefty fine imposed on them by the league's disciplinary committee during its sitting last Tuesday evening.

During the sitting, the committee found the chairperson of Dynamos, Mr Pat Malabela, and his brother, July Malabela, guilty of causing the abandonment of their league match against Polokwane City.

The incident relating to the matter took place at the Giyani Stadium on 10 April. The committee found that the Malabela brothers had invaded the pitch during the game and ultimately caused the abandonment of the match.

The supporters of Dynamos were also not happy with the manner in which the game was being officiated and they threw missiles onto the pitch, leading to a guilty verdict on that charge. The Malabelas were acquitted on the charge of verbally abusing the match officials.

The committee ruled that Dynamos must forfeit the points for the match to Polokwane City, with a score of 3-0. The club was fined an amount of R100 000, half of which was suspended. Dynamos and the two Malabela brothers were ordered to pay the costs of the sittings for 9 and 14 May.

Both Pat and July were each fined an amount of R50 000, half of which was suspended.

Pat was also found guilty of bringing the league into disrepute, following an incident which took place on 6 April. The committee found that Malabela had entered the technical area without authorization while the game was in progress and made disparaging remarks towards the match officials. He was warned for that.
