Dr Andy Ramavhanda has done it again. In an effort to continue his work of caring for previously disadvantaged, orphans and vulnerable children, he donated food parcels to the children of the Simon of Cirene feeding scheme at Vleifontein on Tuesday.
More than 80 children who are attached to the feeding scheme were over the moon to see that, although food prices are very high, there are people who can share the little food they have. In an interview with Mirror, Ramavhanda indicated that he felt that there was a need for him to express a sense of love in his heart.
Asked what really inspired him, Ramavhanda outlined that he had devoted himself to the community. "Members of the community that I serve are always close to my heart and I will always care about them," he said. He further acknowledged that he wanted to see the community grow. According to the founder of the scheme, Ms Itani Sadiki, the scheme caters for children from the four villages of Maila, Vleifontein, Munzhedzi and Elim.
She added that, although there were people like Ramavhanda who assisted the feeding scheme with food, there were still other challenges they had to face, such as a space of their own. "We are looking for people who can assist us to build our own premises as we are now operating in a garage," she said.
