At the time of going to the press the Managing Director of Black Leopards, Mr David Thidiela, was still in the capital city of Mozambique, Maputo. According to him he was there to finalize the paper work regarding the purchasing of the talented Fernando Matola.
The Mozambique international has impressed the Leopards technical staff during their recent rehearsal matches including the Premier Trust Bursary Challenge matches that were played at the Thohoyandou Stadium three weeks ago. Although Thidiela could not comment on the issue, the Managing Director of the defunct Ria Stars Football Club, Mrs Ria Ledwaba, revealed that Thidiela was interested in three of her players. She denied naming the players, saying it was still a matter between her and Mr Thidiela.
Realising that the only reliable player in the middle of the park was their team captain, Wanani Mulaudzi, Leopards have acquired the services of the former Moroka Swallows midfielder, Jaconia Cibi earlier this week. Cibi joined the rest of the players at the training camp on Monday afternoon.
On the other hand, the pride of the Lowveld, Dynamos Football Club have registered two seasoned players this week. Andries Sebola from Orlando Pirates and Joel Seroba from Ria Stars are already on the Dynamos books, while negotiations were at an advanced stage with four other players, Frank Makua, Soul Molapo, Naughty Mokeona and Ducks Machaka.
