After losing 1-3 to Chippa United at the Philipi Stadium in Cape Town a fortnight ago, Dynamos gave away more league points to their opponents when they suffered a 0-1 defeat at the hands of Bay United at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The game was a balanced affair from the start, with both sides creating and squandering scoring chances. It was a sole effort by the United's striker, Majalefa Mphuti, that ended with a goal in the 67th minute.

Although it was an away fixture for them, Blackburn Rovers managed to grab a full compliment of points last weekend. They beat the big-spending Atlie FC at the Senaba Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday. University of Pretoria continued to pave their way up the ladder when they beat Vasco da Gama 2-0.

FC AK could not absorb the pressure from the opponents when they lost 0-1 to Thanda Royal Zulu. Joseph Mthombeni scored the much-needed goal for Thanda Royal Zulu in the dying minutes.

Mpumalanga Black Aces finally produced some good form, giving Carara Kicks a 3-0 hiding at the Rand Stadium in Johannesburg. Phumelele Bhengu scored a brace, while Lottie Phiri scored the third.

There was more misery for the struggling Sevutsa Stars, who lost 0-3 to FC Cape Town at the Parow Park Stadium. Sevutsa Stars were reduced to 10 men in the second half, after the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Michael Nkambule, saw red.

This weekend's fixtures in the National First Division League are:

Witbank Spurs vs Dynamos (Ackerville Stadium); Vasco da Gama vs FC Cape Town (Parow Park Stadium); Carara Kicks vs Thanda Royal Zulu (Phuthaditshaba Stadium); United vs University of Pretoria (Botshabelo Stadium); Sevutsa Stars vs Mpumalanga Black Aces (Kanyamazane Stadium); Bay United vs Chippa United (Old Peter Mokaba Stadium); FC AK vs Atlie FC (Eldorado Park Stadium) and Blackburn Rovers vs African Warriors (Buffalo City Stadium).
