Dynamos are currently in a boardroom battle in a bid to reclaim their National First Division status. This after the Premier Soccer League (PSL) officially announced last week that the pride of Giyani, together with Atlie FC, have been relegated to the Vodacom Promotional League.
Two days after the announcement, Dynamos and Blackburn Rovers sent complaints to the league. Both Dynamos and Blackburn Rovers are complaining about the alleged improper registration of players by certain teams.
According to the spokesperson for the PSL, Mr Altaaf Kazi, Rovers' complaint has to do with a player of Chippa United, who could not be named. Neither Kazi nor the chairman of Dynamos, Mr Patrick Malabela, was prepared to comment on the contents of the complaint from Dynamos. A source close to the club has, however, told Limpopo Mirror that Dynamos' complaint is about a player of Bay United and the other one of Carara Kicks, who they allege are not properly registered with their respective teams.
Realising that the league was about to complicate things by allowing the promotional playoff matches to go on before their complaints could be entertained, Dynamos and Blackburn Rovers threatened to take legal action against the league.
That prompted the league to postpone the promotional play-off matches indefinitely. One match had already been played when the league postponed the matches. Santos beat Thanda Royal Zulu 1-0 at the Richards Bay Stadium last Wednesday afternoon.
If found guilty, Bay United will forfeit about 12 points and thereby drop to the relegation zone, while at the same time giving Dynamos a chance to move up on the log. Should Chippa United lose their case, they will forfeit about 9 points and thus give Blackburn Rovers a chance to take part in the promotional play-offs.
