It was clear from the start that the Dynamos technical staff had done their homework of sharpening up their striking force last week, as the Stars’ defence was running for cover throughout the game. The visitors from the Kwazulu Natal Province were the first to find the net.
Their solitary goal came in the 19th minute. Terry Ibrahim, their left flank, caught the Dynamos keeper, Sanudi Swadick, napping and scored with a screw volley. The Stars did not have enough time to celebrate their goal as Ri khomeni ri nga peli retaliated three minutes thereafter. Reason Maswanganyi connected a pass from Rodney Thobejane from the 25-meter area. Strike Malope of Durban Stars was booked for an illegal tackle on Lefu Nyapulu.
Dynamos effected the first change to their original line-up in the 38th minute. They introduced Ayanda Lumkwane at the expense of the former Silver Stars killer striker, Ishmael Maluleke. The dynamos from Giyani were leading 2-1 at half time. Their second goal came in the 45th minute through Evans Maloka, who finished off a square pass from the first goal scorer, Reason Maswanganyi.
Durban Stars ran out of stamina as the going got tough. The home side later sacrificed Lefu Nyapulu for Mosito Kedi. Mosito combined well with Delron Maleka at the front. Dynamos put matters beyond doubt in the 86th minute. Mosito beat the Stars’ keeper, Kelly Wayne, with a ground cutter to bring the final score to 3-1.
