Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) brutally walloped Polokwane United 8-2 in their ABC Motsepe League match played at the Tshifulanani Stadium on Saturday. TTM's killer-striker, Akonkwo Nemakonde, scored five of his team's eight goals.
As if they were going to bury the home side alive, United approached the game aggressively. Their efforts did not pass without a reward as they managed to open their account in the 11th minute. Their overlapping defender, Kenneth "Mabena" Lesia, tried his luck from the 35 metre area with a half volley. The keeper of TTM, Senzo Makhumbule, misjudged the flight of the ball and suffered the pain of watching it travel beyond his reach.
United enjoyed their 1-0 lead until the proceedings of the first half came to an end.
TTM were all over the visitors throughout the second half. They scored their first goal through Mphedziseni Tshidumo in the 48th minute. Akonkwo Nemakonde was on target two minutes later. TTM increased the margin through Rendani Mukomafhedzi in the 56th minute.
The visitors lost shape in the middle of the park after TTM's third goal. It was not surprising when TTM scored three more goals in quick succession via Akonkwo Nemakonde to make it 6-1.
Their 7th goal was an honour to Francis Baloyi, who beat the keeper with a ground cutter. Baloyi was warned with a card for dangerous play in the 78th minute. Baloyi scored the 8th in the 80th minute and United reduced the margin in the 87th minute. Solly Bopape hooked in the ball following a scramble within the box.
