The search for the next cultural ambassador in Venda has begun, with entries for Miss Venda Queen SA 2025 now open.
More than a beauty contest, the pageant positions itself as a platform for young women to demonstrate leadership, cultural pride and community-minded purpose. Organiser Londanani Ndou said the vision behind the event was to empower participants by giving them space to show both confidence and impact.
"This event aims to empower young women by giving them the space to express their confidence, purpose and leadership in ways that uplift both themselves and the communities they come from," said Ndou.
The competition places strong emphasis on Venda culture, encouraging contestants to embrace and celebrate their heritage. Participants will also take part in charity initiatives that promote social upliftment and development.
"By bringing together talent, culture, empowerment and social impact under one event, we aim to create an unforgettable experience that unites people, celebrates womanhood and opens doors of opportunity for every participant," Ndou added.
Young women aged 16 to 29 who live in Venda and have active Instagram and Facebook accounts are encouraged to enter. Registration costs R350 and includes a sash.
Winners can expect prizes such as R10,000 in cash, vouchers, a weekend getaway and a professional photoshoot package.
The grand finale is scheduled for 15 December 2025 at the Florence Masakona Arts Centre in Thohoyandou, where the next Miss Venda Queen SA will be crowned.
