It was another weekend of action for the teams campaigning under the banner of the National First Division (NFD).
Jomo Cosmos suffered their first defeat on Saturday. They lost 0-1 to Thanda Royal Zulu at the Richards Bay Sport Stadium. It took Cosmos 19 minutes to realise that it was not their day. They were awarded a penalty, following an infringement on Solly Hlabane within the box. The keeper of Thanda, Solomon Dlamini, braved the shot and palmed the ball away for a corner kick.
The home side came back strongly in the last half. The only goal of the match came in the 78th minute. Harry Sebeko headed the ball in, after Freddy Dlomo's excellent cross from the left corner.
Polokwane City shared the glory with FC Cape Town. They played to a 1-1 draw at the NNK Rugby Stadium in Cape Town.
In their Mpumalanga derby at the Themba Senamela Stadium in Witbank, Mpumalanga Black Aces and Witbank Spurs shared the spoils, following a 1-1 draw.
Santos failed to impress their home crowd when they played to a 2-2 draw with Blackburn Rovers at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Sivutsa Stars and Milano United also played to a draw. The final score was 0-0, despite numerous promises by the Stars' front runners.
Back home, Dynamos suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat at the hands of Vasco da Gama at the Giyani Stadium. FC AK continued to collect points when they beat Roses United 2-1 at the Makhulong Stadium in Johannesburg. African Warriors managed to beat United FC 2-1, despite the fact that it was an away match for them.
