According to the spokesperson of the police in the Mopani Area, Capt Moatshe Ngoepe, the suspects broke into the college during the night of the incident in question. They managed to take 13 computers and put them next to the security fence surrounding the college.
They then started loading the computers onto a vehicle, which was parked next to the fence outside the premises. While busy loading some concerned residents notified the police who responded by coming to the scene within seconds.
At that stage six computers had already been loaded onto the thieves' vehicle. Realising that the police were coming in their direction, the suspects drove away with their vehicle thus leaving seven computers next to the fence. The police gave chase but the suspects vanished.
The police later got information regarding the suspects' whereabouts and traced them until they arrested them on Monday night. They were still to appear in court at the time of going to press.
* In the meantime, the police thanked the community members for the information that led to the arrest and recovery of the six stolen computers.
