Former star player for Black Leopards FC Eric Ramavhale has been assigned the responsibility to coach one of the South African grannies' soccer teams, Vakhegula Vakhegula. The team is scheduled to take part in the Grannies International Football Tournament that will be staged at the Nkowankowa Stadium in Tzaneen from 26 to 29 March.

According to one of the organisers of the tournament, Ms Beka Ntsanwisi, the decision to appoint Mr Ramavhale to the position of head coach was reached when they realised that he is currently actively involved in the grannies' football as a coach and sponsor. Ms Ntsanwisi is the founder of Vakhegula Vakhegula FC. Ramavhale played for several professional teams, including Black Leopards, in the late nineties.

Twenty teams from around the globe will take part in the event. The toss for the tournament was held at the Tzaneen Country Lodge last Saturday. The teams have been divided into five groups. Teams that belong to Group B are Mamie Foot Togo (Togo), Mbombela Gogos (RSA), Lepressas FC (USA) and Corumana Velhos (Mozambique).
