According to police spokesperson in the area, Capt Moatshe Ngoepe, it is alleged that the four officers had reported several theft cases at the local police station from early last year until last week. Some of the items that the officials had reported as stolen include wheelbarrows, pockets of cement, doors, window frames and timber.
The police received a tip off from concerned members of the public that the items that were reported stolen were actually stolen by the complainants themselves. The police followed the hints and search warrants were issued against the suspects.
