Four Limpopo teams in Legacy tournament

Four teams from Limpopo will meet in the Limpopo Legacy soccer challenge at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday, sponsored by the South African Sport Legacy Museum.

Four teams from Limpopo will meet in the Limpopo Legacy soccer challenge at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday, sponsored by the South African Sport Legacy Museum.

The teams are Black Leopards, Baroka FC, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) and the ABC Motsepe team, Dengedza FC. The tournament was launched at the Royal Hotel in Polokwane on Friday.

The sponsor, Mr Tshilidzi Musingadi, said that football had the ability to develop and unite people and had also shown itself to be a fantastic medium through which young people could learn the values of discipline, team work and good health, all while having fun.

The chairperson of Dengeza FC, Mr Akani Siweya, said the team had received tremendous support from the management and the community. "Just getting to the tournament has made a difference to the boys in terms of confidence and motivation," he added. The manager of TTM, Mr Ricardo Miriri, said that his players were ready for any team.

The CEO Baroka FC, Mr Morgan Mammila, said that the team had been participating in different competitions around the district. "I hope that they will eventually get good results." The manager of Black Leopards, Mr Elijah Mulaudzi, expressed his joy with his team's performances.

The fixtures are: Black Leopards vs Dengeza FC at 09:00, Baroka vs TTM (11:00) and the winner will meet in the final at 15:00.
