Four vehicles recovered, one still missing as police hunt suspects

Police in Thohoyandou recovered four of five vehicles stolen during an armed robbery where R80,000 was taken and a victim shot. A manhunt continues for the 10 suspects involved in this violent incident.

Police in Thohoyandou have recovered four of the five vehicles stolen during a violent armed robbery at a Habudeli filling station, while a manhunt continues for the 10 armed suspects.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, 6 April, at about 02:30, when approximately 10 unknown male suspects, all armed with firearms, stormed a petrol station in Habudeli.

Police said the suspects forced their way into the premises, broke open a safe and stole about R80,000 in cash. During the incident, one of the vehicle owners was shot. The victim’s condition has not been disclosed.

The recovered vehicles include a blue Ford Raptor, a white Ford Ranger Wildtrak, a black VW Polo sedan and a white VW Polo GTI. A white Ford Figo remains outstanding.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects, and investigations into charges of business robbery, attempted murder and carjacking are ongoing.
