Lufuno Ndouvhada, also known as "Tlou De DJ," has become one of Limpopo's most recognisable voices. The Choice FM drive-time presenter and soul RnB DJ began his radio journey in 2017 at a rural community station. Today, he hosts the 3–6 pm drive show, a slot that has quickly become a listener favourite.
Born and raised in Ha-Kutama, just outside Louis Trichardt, Ndouvhada credits his love for radio to childhood curiosity. "I was a very radio-loving person. My friends used to ask, 'Why are you like old people?' because they thought radio was made for grannies," he recalled. His passion for storytelling and engaging audiences naturally drew him to broadcasting.
Ndouvhada joined Choice FM on 7 February 2022. He described the transition from rural to urban radio as challenging, requiring him to adapt to new tactics and lifestyles. Hosting different shows at Choice FM helped him develop confidence, communication skills and creativity, particularly in scripting and improvisation.
Preparation and audience understanding are central to his approach. He researches news both locally and internationally and reads extensively to ensure he is well informed. He also emphasises the importance of the voice in radio, describing it as a defining tool for presenters. "Voice is what defines us as radio presenters. I feel God blessed me," he said.
Balancing work behind the decks and live radio requires careful time management. Ndouvhada plans his days meticulously, allowing him to merge his roles as presenter, DJ, MC and event organiser seamlessly. He highlighted that the drive show stood out by working closely with local talent and providing accurate, engaging content alongside popular music.
Looking ahead to 2026, Ndouvhada plans to run educational and health campaigns. "I believe with what I have as a public figure I can bring changes in my communities," he said.
