Gwamasenga United Brothers beat Shayandima Dynamos 1-0 in their MMK Administrators League match at the Shayandima grounds on Saturday.
Brothers were strong on the attack throughout the first half, but their fighting spirit faded with time. The visitors could have scored more than half a dozen of goals in the first half, but their strikers were not lucky enough to find the net. Their right winger, Lindelani "Makhanya" Mudau, went loose on countless occasions, only to suffer the pains of watching his close-range shots going astray.
The goal by which the boys were separated from men came in the 34th minute. Lindelani "Makhanya" Mudau was on target, after forcing his way through the defence of Dynamos. Realizing that Mudau was a thorn in their flesh, Dynamos deployed two defenders to contain him on a full-time basis. Masala Tsanwani of United Brothers was reprimanded with a card for dangerous play towards the end of the first half.
Realizing that their scoring chances were slim, Dynamos effected three changes to their starting line-up. They introduced Fhulufhelo Mudau, Glen Khobo and Rendani Manngo and sacrificed Takalani Madzena, Simon Makhado and Brian Seoto respectively.
United Brothers tried to neutralize the home side by strengthening their defence in the opening minutes of the last stanza. They introduced Aluwani Mundalamo, who replaced Unarine Nembambula. Khodani Davhula and Mbangiseni Muedi of Brothers were cautioned for wasting time in the 75th and 84th minutes.
