The principal of Fulufhelo Special School in Thohoyandou, Mr William Ramaano, said the handover of two buses to the school by the Limpopo Department of Education had "answered the prayer of the school community."
"We appreciate our very own MEC Mavhungu Luruli-Ramakhanya, together with her team in the education department, for counting in Fulufhelo Special School as a main beneficiary by allocating the school two buses on top of the one allocated in 2024," said Ramaano.
According to him, the new buses will ease the financial burden on parents, reduce late arrivals and departures, and cut the high costs the school previously incurred to hire transport. Although the school still needs more buses, he said the latest allocation was "a giant step in the right direction in the livelihood and wellbeing of learners with intellectual disabilities."
As part of Inclusivity Month, MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya donated 28 buses to 25 special schools across all 10 education districts. She is also monitoring the 2025 NSC examinations and recently visited Rivoni School for the Blind, where 16 candidates — some using Braille — are writing Tshivenda, Xitsonga and Sepedi Home Language.
