The principal of Fulufhelo Special School in Thohoyandou Block G, Mr William Ramaano, is on cloud nine after receiving a National Batho Pele and Innovation (Special Ministerial) Award from the Department of Public Service and Administration.
The award was presented during a glittering ceremony on 28 November at Emperor's Palace in Gauteng. The National Batho Pele and Innovation Awards are presented annually to recognise and institutionalise service excellence and innovation in the public service. They also aim to promote a culture of improved service delivery, accountability and innovation in line with the Batho Pele (People First) Revitalisation Strategy.
On accepting the award, Ramaano said he was humbled by the recognition and thanked the Lord for making it possible. "Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Sometimes we reap when we least expect it," he said.
Ramaano also expressed his appreciation for the support of his wife and children, the corporate effort of his colleagues, and the unwavering support of the Mvudi circuit and Vhembe district offices. "May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to brighten the future of these learners," he added.
