Godfrey Mboweni, also known as "Gazaboy" from Tshino village, is a singer who has found comfort, healing, and his life's purpose in music.
Mboweni has released a new Venrap single, Ndomufuna, which he believes will take the Venrap industry by storm.
"I discovered music at a very young age," he said. He started rapping around 2012 in the streets of the Tshino district. Gazaboy's talent quickly caught attention, partly due to his powerful vocal chords. "My sound has penetrated the genre. Music is a healing process, and it always finds a way to touch hearts," he explained.
Regarding his latest release, Gazaboy said he was overwhelmed by the support he received from the community. "I'm happy that the album has been so well received, including by radio stations. I am very excited and motivated, and I can now promise that the best is yet to come. I have come to realise that, as a united front, artists from this area have a bright future," he said.
He added that his supporters could expect more good music from him. "I'm currently discussing a collaboration in this genre with one of the best Tshivenda artists," he said.
He also described himself as a healer who uses music to touch the hearts of fans. "Music should make people feel better no matter what. If it doesn't do that, then it's not real music," he said.
Gazaboy is currently performing live at various venues around the province to promote the single. "My schedule is very hectic because everyone wants me to perform in their area. I urge my fans to be patient and wait until I'm there to give them the best of my music," he said.
