Born Martin Ngwana, Ginger Man SA is on a relentless pursuit to create a name for himself in the music industry.
The 19-year-old house music DJ and producer from Tshikota fell in love with music at the age of 15. "I used to DJ at parties in Tshikota and at the age of 16, I joined the music industry with the help from Mr Retha Mudau. Mr Mudau taught me a lot about music production," he said.
Ginger Man SA released his first single, Sghubhu, in November 2018. "From that time, people became more interested in my music. I then released my second single, Cela uhambe. It was a hit single and it reached 700 downloads in three days," he said. His latest single is Aslali, featuring Bianca and Jan.
"I want to make it big in this industry and be like DJ Maphorisa and DJ Tira, so that I can help other talented artists out there who also deserve the chance of making it in the music industry. I would like to thank Jade Promotion for believing in my music," he said. He encourages young artists to believe in themselves and always put more effort in their work.
He said the outbreak of Covid-19 had really affected his career. "I was booked to perform in some events, but they are all cancelled. It is also a blessing in disguise because it is giving me more time to add new things to my music and develop more strategies on how I can deliver my music to people," he said.
He deeply appreciates the support from his fans. "It gives me strength to give you more good music and I believe that I will make it," he said. The fans can expect an EP, Believe in yourself, which will feature artists such as Bianca, Da Afro, DJ Noble and DJ Marumo.
