Mutheiwana Given Nganeyavhutshilo, also known as Given Da Chief, has captivated fans with the release of his latest single titled "Mama" just two weeks ago. The 24-year-old hip-hop and trap artist from Tshifura, in his song, delves into the profound love of a mother and her guiding influence on her child.
Given Da Chief said that he titled the song "Mama" as a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, whom he lost at a young age. He believes the song beautifully portrays the significance of a mother's love in shaping a child's perspective on life and love.
"I wrote the lyrics for this song in memory of my late mother and also dedicated it to all mothers out there. It serves as a remembrance of the love she showed me while she was alive, and I encourage others to express their love to their mothers while they are still with us, as life is unpredictable. The song also explores themes of death and vulnerability, offering a profound reflection on loss and acceptance," he said.
Following his debut song, "Goni", last year, where he collaborated with acclaimed artists such as Una Rams, Gusba Banana, and J-Smash, Given Da Chief has gained recognition in the music industry. Since the release of his latest single, which is part of his anticipated first EP scheduled for release at the end of May, he has received exceptional feedback from his growing fan base.
"The feedback has been incredible, and I'm extremely grateful for the love and support from my fans. They can anticipate plenty of great music, including the upcoming EP and exciting collaborations with national artists," he said.
