From the heart of Venda to the national stage, Giver Givero is making serious waves. The DJ, producer, entrepreneur and radio personality — real name Netshiozwi Munei — has become one of the most exciting talents to emerge from Vhembe in recent years. Now, with his latest creation, Forest Explosion, he's combining music, nature and rural pride into a one-of-a-kind experience.
Raised in the culturally rich village of Tshitereke, Givero's deep roots in his community shaped both his sound and his vision. His rise to the decks came with a realisation that music wasn't just a hobby — it was his calling. After a standout performance at a local venue, he earned the nickname "The Most Trusted DJ" and never looked back.
His music, a soulful blend of kwaito, house and acoustic elements, is designed to uplift. "When you hear me play, you will relate," he says. "I give hope, I bring happiness — vibes that lift you from the everyday."
With Forest Explosion, Givero has fused his love of music and Venda's natural beauty. More than just a party, it's a celebration of hidden gems like Dzimauli Waterfalls, Tshatshingo potholes and Tshirovha Waterfalls — all set to an unforgettable soundtrack.
The first event exceeded expectations, leaving him stunned by the turnout. But organising rural events hasn't been without challenges. "Sponsorship is tough. Many brands overlook rural markets," he admits. Still, his persistence has paid off, proving that with grit and consistency, rural initiatives can thrive.
Forest Explosion is also about showcasing talent — both known and undiscovered. "Unknown artists can be the event highlight," he says, as he carefully curates line-ups that balance energy and potential.
Looking ahead, Givero is building more than just events. His dream is to open a recording studio in Venda, nurturing rural talent much like township legends before him. "It's about development and legacy," he explains.
For aspiring artists, his advice is simple: "Be honest with yourself. Be humble. Use criticism to grow. Consistency beats perfection."
After the success of his collaboration with DJ Davic and the rising star Claudia, Givero is already working on his next project — a new single titled Zwido Ita, recorded with Mishumo Madima, and plans for a music tour through Venda's scenic spots.
And he's just getting started. "Everything I've dreamt of is now unfolding," he says. "But this is only the beginning. I'm building a movement, not just a career."
