Gomora United and The Bees battle to avoid relegation axe

A crucial match between relegation-threatened Gomora United and The Bees FC will unfold next Tuesday at Malamulele Stadium. Both teams, sitting 12th and 13th in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, are fighting to avoid the drop, with The Bees showing improved form under new leadership.

With Black Leopards and Venda Football Club preparing for their away fixtures in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, all eyes will be on Malamulele Stadium next Tuesday, 7 April, when Gomora United host The Bees FC in a crucial clash at the lower end of the table.

Both teams remain in relegation danger, sitting 12th and 13th with 24 and 25 points respectively.

Gomora United have a match in hand after their game against Midlands Wanderers at Malamulele Stadium was abandoned at half-time due to a waterlogged pitch, with Wanderers leading 1-0. The league is yet to announce the date and time for the remainder of the fixture.

The Bees’ form has improved under head coach Mr Joel Masutha, appointed two months ago. They have collected five points under his guidance, with their only defeat a 0-1 loss to Casric Stars at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in Kwamhlanga on 22 February.

The team is celebrating a 3-0 victory over University of Pretoria FC at Kanyamazane Stadium outside Nelspruit two weeks ago.

Gomora’s defenders Revaldo Fox and captain Samuel Manganyi will be expected to protect the goal area next week, while Tiklas Thutlwa and Karabo Khoza are poised to trouble The Bees’ defence.
