Baroka FC continued to pave their way up on the NFD log when they beat Amazulu 1-0 at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban on Sunday.
Sphamandla Sangweni scored the goal that earned the Limpopo side three vital points in the 59th minute. Amazulu did not give in without a fight. They pressed hard in their search for the equalizer, but the defenders of Baroka refused to see strangers within their territory.
Milano United moved to the fourth spot, following their 2-0 victory over African Warriors at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Sunday. Gregory Roelf, the overlapping defender, and Nasief Morris scored for the Cape Town side in the 14th and 57th minute respectively.
Mthatha Bucks remain in the relegation zone after playing to a goalless draw with Santos at the Mthatha Stadium on Saturday. The other side that remains rooted on the relegation zone is Vasco da Gama. They disappointed their supporters when they played to a goalless draw with Mbombela United at the Kanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit.
Highlandspark enhanced their chances of securing a place in the promotional play-offs when they beat Thanda Royal Zulu 2-0 at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa. Peter Shalulile put the hosts in front 11 minutes into the game. The Zimbabwean national, Zivai Varenga, was on target in the 67th minute. Thanda created numerous scoring chances, but it was difficult for them to find their way through the defence of Highlandspark.
FC Cape Town lost 0-1 to Royal Eagles at the NNK Rugby Stadium in Cape Town, thanks to Katlego Mphela's 34th-minute goal. Peter Mubayiwa scored the only goal when Witbank Spurs beat Cape Town 1-0 at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Black Leopards drew 1-1 with Moroka Swallows at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
