Rapson Mbilu Rambuwani, a local a radio personality, gospel singer, pastor and councillor from Thohoyandou, will be celebrating his 60th birthday, as well as his 35th marriage anniversary, on 12 November this year, and everyone is invited.
The always smiling radio presenter says he must be the only man in the world who has told his wife, Mrs Thinavhuyo Gloria Rambuwani, that she is beautiful more than a million times. "For 35 years, I have been telling her that I love her, and that she is beautiful times without number. Every morning when I wake up, I look at her and, after all this time, it still feels like we are on our honeymoon. Let me take this opportunity to tell her once again that I love her in the newspaper, just for a change," he smiled.
When asked how his love for his wife still managed to grow every day, his facial expression became serious. "She loved me in a time when it was just not done to love people with a skin condition. I remember on our wedding day people were asking her if there were no men in her village, because she was marrying me. I felt very hurt, but she told me not to worry about them because she is mine forever," he said, his eyes lighting up with love again.
He said that, even though everyone was invited to the celebration, people must keep in mind that the venue only accommodated 500 people. "We are expecting guests from Malawi, Zambia and other African countries where I usually perform. We are also expecting local politicians, pastors and musicians."
The function will be held at the FET College in Muledane village, starting at 11:00.
