The much-anticipated semi-finals and final of the Mafhungwana Soccer Tournament will be played at the Mukula Tshidzanitshamaria Grounds on Saturday.

Sparks are expected to fly in the first semi-final at 09:00, when Malavuwe Great Movers take on Thohoyandou Manchester Flying Stars. Great Movers will be out to prove they are worthy champions of the Safa Vhembe Stream B1, having lost only one match this season.

Flying Stars should not be underestimated. They were strong contenders for the league title throughout the season and finished third with 42 points — ten behind the champions, Ngwenani Young Chiefs.

Flying Stars' goalkeeper, Tshifhiwa Rasivhaga, is more than just a shot-stopper — he is known for his acrobatic saves. Breaking through a defence marshalled by Rofhiwa Tshikovhi will be no easy task for the Great Movers.

In the second semi-final, scheduled for 11:00, Berea FC will face Musasenda Big Five. Berea, champions of Stream H2, will look to Dakalo Ratshitanga, Edwin Ramphabana and Funanani Ndou to lead their attack. Berea reached the semi-finals after defeating Tshivhilwi Young Bombers 3-0 in their quarter-final clash at Khubvi Benjie's Grounds two weeks ago.

The winners of the two semi-finals will meet in the final at 15:00.

This year's champions will take home R20,000, a floating trophy, gold medals and a soccer kit. The runners-up will receive R10,000, silver medals and a kit. The third-placed team will walk away with R7,000, bronze medals and a kit, while the fourth-placed side will collect R5,000 and a kit. Teams eliminated in the quarter-finals will each receive R2,000.
