Greenweli side wins Indian 20 over league

The Greenweli side from Venda won the final of the local Second Indian Premier League on Sunday, 18 September. They beat Choice XI by 37 runs in this exciting 20-over match played at Cloud´s End Hotel’s field.

The Greenweli side from Venda won the final of the local Second Indian Premier League on Sunday, 18 September. They beat Choice XI by 37 runs in this exciting 20-over match played at Cloud´s End Hotel's field.

Greenweli opted to bat first and got off to a good start, thanks to contributions by Ayub (10), Sabbir (45), Sajid (18), Irfan (28) and Maqsud (17 not out). At the end of the 20th ove,r the score stood at 176 with 7 wickets down. Choice XI's most successful bowlers were Aziz and Tosif, who each took two wickets.

Choice XI's batting innings started off fairly well, with Tosif (15) and Aslam (52) chasing the runs. Hafeji (23) also put up some resistance, but then the wickets started falling. Iillayas took four wickets and Ayub three to wrap things up. The last wicket fell in the 19th over, with 132 runs on the board.

Man of the Match was Greenweli's Sabbir for his splendid 45 runs. He also took the important wicket of Tosif.
