Haandi YellowMah, one of Limpopo's most promising voices, is charting a confident return to the spotlight. The former Town Star winner, who first captured national attention on the SABC 2 talent show, is preparing to release a brand-new single, featuring the King of Venrap, Mizo Phyll.

Set for release on 30 May, the song is expected to showcase not only Haandi's evolving sound but also a more personal side of the artist. He reveals that the track is inspired by a deep emotional connection — the way he has come to love the mother of his son.

"It was such a great honour working with a man of Mizo Phyll's status," says Haandi. "The song came from a real place."

This is not the first time the two have collaborated. According to the artist, their musical chemistry dates back to an earlier project. Encouraged by the success of their previous work together, his manager suggested they reunite for another release — a move Haandi believes will elevate his career to greater heights.

The artist describes his style simply as "New Wave" — a sound he has been crafting since his early days in music. Raised in Limpopo, Haandi began his musical journey in 2009, deeply influenced by his uncle's love for music. "He would play music every day when he came home from work. That is where I discovered my love for it," he recalls.

However, the road has not always been smooth. Haandi is candid about the challenges he has faced along the way, including ridicule and discouragement early in his career. Despite this, he remained focused on his goals. "I was mocked and discouraged, but I did not let that define me. I stood tall because I knew what I wanted," he says.

With his fan base growing and momentum building, Haandi has more in store. He hints at upcoming collaborations with Metro CMG, Asa Tee and Rude Kid, among others — moves that signal a serious intent to cement his place in the industry.

For young creatives in Limpopo, and anyone chasing a dream against the odds, Haandi offers a firm word of encouragement: "Do not ever let anyone's negative mindset bring you down. Go for what you want."
