The trial of Pfananami Goma (20), who is accused of killing his girlfriend in Folovhodwe village in the Mutale area last year, has been postponed to 25 September. Goma appeared in the Mutale Magistrate's Court on Monday, 7 August.

Goma is alleged to have killed 17-year-old Zwivhuya Miriri on 20 November 2022. The victim's older sister, Miss Zelda Miriri, expressed the family's dissatisfaction with the postponement. She said, "Every time we see him smiling at his family in court, our hearts ache with pain. He [allegedly] beat my sister to death with an electrical cable, but he comes here smiling as if he had killed an animal. All we want is to see him being sentenced. He looks so healthy as if he is living in a hotel. He is enjoying himself with our tax money while my sister is gone forever."

During a bail application on 26 April this year, Goma accused the deceased's mother of causing her own daughter's death by administering traditional muti to terminate her pregnancy. Zelda responded, "After killing my sister, he still has the audacity to insult my mother like this. I hope he rots in jail."
