High aims for Shooting Stars

After gaining promotion to the Vodacom Promotional League, Davhana Shooting Stars aims to gain promotion to the NFD.

After gaining promotion from the SAB to the Vodacom Promotional League, Davhana Shooting Stars have set a new target for themselves, which is to gain promotion to the National First Division at the end of the coming soccer season.

According the marketing manager of the club, Mr Joseph Makushu, the management of club met recently and several issues, including the renaming of the club, were discussed. According to him, the club will in future be known as Rospa United FC.

The management was also beefed up by new members during the meeting. Makushu indicated that they are aware of the fact that gaining promotion to the National First Division will not be an easy task, saying they will do everything within their power to ensure that they achieve their set objective in one season.

As one of the ways to prepare for the coming season, Shooting Stars were conducting trials for new players at the Vuwani Mandani grounds over the past weekend. Hundreds of players, some coming from as far as Mpumalanga and Gauteng, tried their luck during the trials.

The managing director of the team is a well-known businessman, Mr Joseph Mutavhatsindi. The other members of the management committee are: Messrs Peter Gumela (financial manager), Joseph Nemangovhe (general secretary), Mashudu Rasimphi (team manager), Emmanuel Chauke (kit manager), Mulalo Mafenya (general manager), George Ramashia (transport manager), Shonisani Ramashia (brand manager), Joseph Makushu (marketing manager), Benjamin Mhlaba (head coach) and Joseph Munyai (assistant coach).

Makushu further said that they would announce the team's new home ground in a few days´ time.
