The Nedbank Cup semi-finals and the final matches for the teams affiliated to the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League will be staged at the Polokwane Noordelikes Stadium on Saturday. Teams that have managed to secure places in the semi-final round are Mpheni Home Defenders, Ngwabe City Motors, Emmanuel FC and Phinnet City FC.
The opening match, which is scheduled to start at 09:00, will be between Mpheni Home Defenders and Ngwabe City Motors. Home Defenders' way to the semi-final stage went via Musina United, whom they had crushed 6-5 in their opening group stage match that was played at the Makhado Show Grounds last Saturday.
Defenders narrowly beat Munaca FC 1-0 in the group final at the same venue to secure a place in the provincial semi-final stage. Gift Nemutandani is expected to be keep the fire burning in Home Defenders' midfield.
City Motors managed to beat Tubatse FC 4-0 in their opening group-stage match, which was played at the Mapodile Stadium in the Sekhukhune area. Their group-final match was against Ditlou FC, whom they then booted out with a 2-0 tally at the same venue later that afternoon.
Phinnet City will rub shoulders with Emmanuel FC in the second semi-final match, which is scheduled to start at 11:00. Emmanuel FC had played against Giyani Happy Boys in their group-stage match at the Giyani Stadium. They later crushed Winners Park FC 1-0 to book a place in the provincial semi-final stage.
The winners in the semi-final matches will meet in the final later in the afternoon. The champions will play against the SAB League provincial champions to determine the team that will represent the province in the national last-32 round. Mikhado FC were the provincial champions last year.
