Madombidzha Celtic proceeded to the next round of the Spring soccer tournament, when they beat Gogobole Home Defenders 2-0 at Madombidzha on Sunday.

Celtic showed no respect for their elder brothers and matched them pound for pound. Munonoka, Celtic's top goal scorer, could not display his normal impressive skills, as Lutendo Phadziri had marked him tightly. The referee, Mr Mendula Sadiki, issued his first yellow card to Aaron Thabelo Tharini of Defenders for rough play on Thabo Matuba. Defenders missed a golden opportunity when their dribbling wizard, Tshishonga Tshishonga, forced his way through from the far left corner but shot wide.

Celtic broke the deadlock when Isaac Mulaudzi finished off a header from Rudzani Lisoga, making the half-time score 1-0 in favour of Celtic.

Defenders committed suicide by leaving the Celtic danger man, Percy Munonoka, unmarked most of the time. He was the thorn in the flesh of the opponents, collecting balls from behind and distributing some to the front runners, while at the same time playing as a striker. Defender Tshikosi Mashau scored an own goal to make the scoreline 2-0 late in the match.
