The race started at Thohoyandou Stadium and finished at Protea Mphephu Resort.
Maladzhi of Rockies Athletics Club finished second in 2:36:37, with Mushoni Nyamande of Giyani Gallopers third in 2:37:07.
In the female category, Jane Mudau of Harmony Gold Athletics Club did it again to be the first lady to reach the finishing line. Her time was 3:07:45. She was followed by Ndofhiwa Mandiwana of Fondwe Athletics Club, who finished in 3:22:41. DJ Makavheli of Harmony Gold finished in the third position.
Last year’s winner of the marathon, Bethuel Tshifhefhe of Harmony Gold, won the half-marathon in 1:05:22. He beat last year’s winner of the 21,1 race, Paul Dangele, by more than three minutes. P Muthubi of Mr Price Athletics Club finished third.
M Madiba, Sallo C Bobby and L L Moloto obtained the first three positions in the veteran’s division. The winner of the masters division was JJ Sacco and G Masiagwala was the first grandmaster home.
Mabavhalelo Sihadi of Tshakhuma Athletic Club won the halfmarathon for women in 1:24:04. K Musekwa and N Ndou finished in the second and third places respectively. The veteran ladies division was won by ES Mudau, with Amanda Kruger of Soutpansberg second and K Makhubela third. B Ledwaba won the masters division of the half-marathon.
