After more than a decade in the music industry, Jerold Nyelisani, known as Jerold Worldwide, is starting to gain attention with his debut single, Standing Out Loud.
Born and raised in Midoroni, near Louis Trichardt, Jerold was brought up by his mother, Vho Aluwani Lucy Makhado, and his late father, Bernard Makumbelo Nyelisani. Both were teachers with a passion for music and the arts, which helped shape his interest in music from a young age.
Jerold’s sound blends Afro-pop and Afro-fusion with elements of Amapiano, R&B, neo-soul, jazz and pop. This mix allows him to reach a wide audience while staying true to his style.
Standing Out Loud was recorded at his home studio in Midrand, Gauteng. The song reflects his journey of growth and self-discovery, as well as the challenges of building a career in a fast-changing music industry.
At its core, the track carries a message about being true to yourself. It encourages listeners, especially those who feel misunderstood, to stay confident in who they are.
“The song is about being proud of who you are, even when people do not understand you,” he said.
The single is already gaining attention, with more than 11,000 engagements on TikTok and growing interest on social media.
With Standing Out Loud, Jerold Worldwide is introducing himself to a wider audience and beginning to make his mark.
