The semifinal matches for the Amos Charity Shield Soccer Tournament will be staged at the Tshakhuma Malaria grounds on Sunday afternoon. Teams that have managed to secure places in the semis are Joe Maweja, FC KK, Tshakhuma Na Ndilani and Tshakhuma RO United.
Maweja are still to lose a match in the tournament. They won all three their group-stage matches. Their opening match was against Gwamasenga United Brothers, whom they beat 1-0 two weeks ago. They beat Tshakhuma RO United 2-1 at the Tshisimani grounds last Saturday. Their Sunday game was against Madridtas, whom they narrowly beat 1-0 to complete their group-stage matches with a clean record.
On the other hand, FC KK's road to the semis was rocky and thorny. They did not lose hope after dropping points in their opening group-stage match against Tshakhuma Na Ndilano, to whom they lost 2-4. They made amends and beat Tshivhazwaulu Peace Makers 1-0 last Saturday. They finished their group-stage journey with four points after playing to a goalless draw with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila last Sunday. The game is scheduled to start at 12:45.
The second semifinal match will be between Tshakhuma Na Ndilani and Tshakhuma RO United. Tshakhuma Na Ndilani won two of their group-stage matches and drew one. They beat FC KK 4-2 in their opening match. They drew 2-2 with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in their second match, while their third match was against Tshivhazwaulu Peace Makers, whom they narrowly beat 1-0.
The players to watch are Khongotela Mahlaule and Khumbudzo Muvhango, both of Joe Maweja, Ndivhuwo Makhado of RO United and Oscar Ntshauba and Danger Netshiungani, both of Tshakhuma Na Ndilani. The second semifinal is set to kick off at 14:45.
The final will be staged at Levubu Stadium next Saturday.
