Excitement was tangible in the air when Dr Thomas Radzilani celebrated his doctorate with relatives and friends at the Richards Hall in Itsani on Saturday, 9 July.
Dr Radzilani received his Doctor of Commerce in Business Management degree from the University of Zululand. He expressed his appreciation to his family and friends for all the support he received regarding his achievements. "Growing up in a disadvantaged background was not easy, but I am happy that I made it."
Dedication and commitment are the secrets behind his outstanding achievements. "I thank God for all He has done for me. It has been a long road to success, and I am glad to have reached my goal. I am now ready and more than equipped with a broader knowledge to conquer the world as well as motivate and encourage young people in the rural areas," Radzilani said.
His advice to learners and undergraduate students facing similar challenges is to "dream, be patient and have a vision, no matter how difficult or impossible life seems to be. Concentrate on your studies and stay focused. There are many detractors on the way, and there is no instant gratification. Vision takes longer to reach, but is wonderful once achieved," he said.
