Just-ice returns with a bang after four-year hiatus

After a four-year hiatus, reggae artist Just-ice returns with his new single, "Just-ice Back in Music," and has uploaded his entire catalog to YouTube. He attributes his comeback to persistent fan encouragement, promising more new music.

After four years away from the spotlight, popular musician Justice Mbedzi, widely known as Just-ice, has made a powerful comeback with a brand-new single titled Just-ice Back in Music.

The single, engineered and mastered by respected producer Ananias Begwa, marks the return of an artist who once dominated the local reggae scene with his energetic performances and distinctive sound.

Just-ice rose to prominence with songs such as U Songo Mphira Murena but seemed to vanish after releasing his last album, Mpheni Mudifho, four years ago. His absence left reggae fans missing the vibrant stage presence and message-driven music they had grown to love.

“Many people thought I had quit music for good, but I regard it as a well-thought-out break where I was taking stock of my life,” he explained.

The break did little to dampen fan enthusiasm. Supporters constantly urged him to return to the studio and to make his previous music available online.

“Since I stopped producing new music, I never had any peace from my fans,” he said with a laugh. “They kept telling me that if I am not releasing new songs, I should at least make my earlier music available on digital platforms.”

Responding to their requests, Just-ice has now uploaded music from all seven of his albums to YouTube, along with several music videos from earlier projects, giving both longtime followers and new listeners the chance to rediscover his catalogue.

“I am back at full speed and fans can expect a lot from me. I want to thank those who kept pushing me during my absence. Their support inspired me to release this new single,” he said.
