Well-known local coach and mentor Justice Mutileni is now also an accredited FIFA Youth Coach. He received his license after attending a course last week in Gauteng at SAFA's technical office.
Mutileni, who hails from Mashamba village, has a long and illustrious career as coach in the Vhembe region. After hanging up his soccer boots in 1999, he decided to pursue a career in coaching. He completed an introductory coaching course the following year and was appointed by the Hlanganani Football Association as head coach for their U/12 and U/14 teams.
He also coached Maindis Ladies FC, where he served as head coach for three years. Some of the other teams he coached between 2005 and 2014 include Mukondeni Innocent Defenders, FC Basel, JM School of Excellence, the SAFA Vhembe U/17 squad, and the Limpopo SAB U/21 team.
When Madridtas FC bought the ABC Motsepe League franchise in 2016, they put their trust in Mutileni, whom they appointed as the team's head coach. He migrated to another ABC Motsepe League side, The Dolphins FC, where he stayed for two seasons. The Dolphins FC qualified for the national promotional play-offs twice in a row under the guidance of Mutileni.
He also coached Venda Football Academy in 2019 to 2020, when the team was still playing in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe league.
He joined Munaca FC in February this year, a team competing in the Limpopo stream of the ABC Motsepe League, as assistant coach to Moses Muthelo. He has since been asked to take full coaching responsibilities for the team.
Mutileni also boasts a SAFA D License, a SAFA Level One coaching certificate, a CAF A License coaching certificate and an Ajax Cape Town coaching certificate.
