Keri-Leigh proves her worth as a swimmer

One of the town’s promising young sporting talents, Keri-Leigh Shaw, is proving her worth as a swimmer.

MAKHADO (LOUIS TRICHARDT) – One of the town’s promising young sporting talents, Keri-Leigh Shaw, is proving her worth as a swimmer.

Keri-Leigh, who is studying at the Tuks Highperformancecentre at present, brought home several medals from the South-African Short Course Championships in Cape Town from September 2 to 5. She took silver in the 100m butterfly, as well as bronze in the 100m individual medley. Her achievements also secured her a place at the Swimming World Cup from November 15 until 21.

The past weekend Keri-Leigh also took part in the Mr Price / Seagull Short Course Championships in Durban. Here she won gold medals in the 100m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 200m medley relay and 200m medley relay. Her time in the 100m butterfly was a new record in the open category of just over one minute. The overall time in the 200m medley relay was also a new record.
