Renowned reggae artist Khakhathi "Murida" Tshisikule is set to captivate fans at the 11th Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival, scheduled for 13 September at the Royal Gardens in Nandoni.
The festival features an impressive line-up, including Makhadzi, Zozo, reggae icon Colbert Mukwevho, Benny Manyengani, and more.
Tshisikule highlighted the special significance of the event for him. "We are well prepared for this show. I'm still rehearsing and making sure to rest before the big day. I'll perform many of my classic hits, as well as some new favourites," he said.
He added that his music carried a message. "I don't just sing for pleasure; I aim to teach people about life. Fans can expect my best performance yet," he said.
According to organiser Mr Divhambele Mbalavhali, the festival unites communities in the province and neighbouring countries to celebrate rich cultural heritage and promote tourism. "The event brings together a unique mix of cultures for a grand celebration. Since it began, it has grown in both participation and attendance," he said.
Mbalavhali added that the festival also provided a development platform for local artists. "It contributes to social cohesion and nation-building while reinforcing our African identity through music," he said.
With an expected turnout of more than 30,000 people, tickets are available for R250 at TicketPro and Spar.
